Life Before Joining Kahane Law
Ritika earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2021. Her commitment to academic excellence led her to be called to the Alberta bar in July 2022.
Before attending law school, Ritika excelled in Criminal Justice, completing her Bachelor of Arts with Honours at Mount Royal University. She actively engaged with her peers as the Vice President of the Criminal Justice Student Society, where she offered support as a peer tutor and received recognition with the SAMRU Outstanding Student of the Year-Bronze scholarship.
During her educational journey, Ritika demonstrated a strong commitment to community engagement. As the Vice President of the Law Students for Human Rights, she played a vital role in promoting events and raising awareness of human rights issues. She also actively participated in the Women’s Law Forum, organizing events and fostering a sense of community among members.
Ritika’s passion for learning and research led her to work as a research assistant for Professor Anna Lund during law school. Through this role, she delved into legal and social science research on foreclosures, the impact of Covid-19 on foreclosure proceedings, and the historical contributions of women in the legal academy. This experience honed her analytical skills and provided her with a well-rounded perspective on legal matters.
Outside the World of Law
Beyond her legal pursuits, Ritika enjoys pursuing her creative interests. She finds joy behind the camera, capturing moments through photography. She also choreographs dances and appreciates exploring different cuisines with friends and family. Ritika’s thirst for knowledge extends to language learning, and she is currently mastering Spanish and Korean.
