A Criminal Agent of Chaos
Some people are unhinged, chaotic, and even villainous based on the types of actions they take. While it’s good to give people the benefit of the doubt, people sometimes just do bad things. One of those people, who has had a substantial amount of trouble with the law, is Blair Rebecca Whitten. The North Dakota woman was arrested in 2021 in Fargo some bizarre and dangerous incidents.
What Did Whitten Do?
On May 1, 2021, Whitten went to her ex-boyfriend’s funeral, even though she was persona non grata. You might think that perhaps she was simply distraught, wanted to say goodbye, and would do that and leave. That wasn’t what happened at all.
When she went to the funeral service, she allegedly tried to run people over with her SUV who were graveside and attending the service. They say that she shifted gears and sped up in an attempt to hit people with her vehicle. She did not seem to care about what happened to anyone at the funeral, and some believe she was actively trying to hurt people.
Her ex-boyfriend, Colin MacDonald, had passed away because of complications that arose due to a minor surgery he underwent. Whitten’s behavior before arriving at the funeral was what led people to not wanting her there in the first place. The family had asked her to stay away from them. She had been leaving strange messages about her ex on social media. Although he passed away in his sleep, she even wrote online that she had killed him.
It’s easy to see why the family did not want her at the funeral. They said that she’d had problems like this for years. One of the people who were at the funeral and who felt targeted was MacDonald’s current girlfriend at the time of his death.
Whitten ended up driving off without injuring anyone. Later, she was arrested and charged. She plead guilty in September of 2021.
However, the incident at the cemetery was not the only strange incident involving Whitten. Not by a long shot.
What Else Did Whitten Do?
Since 2014, Whitten has had at least 17 other traffic and criminal offenses. Some of those cases have been closed and others have been adjudicated. In 2014, she was in trouble for driving with a suspended or revoked license, she had a felony drug case in 2015 and two possession cases in 2020. Also in 2020 were a traffic case and a criminal mischief case.
Her troubles with the law did not end when she drove through her ex’s funeral, though. She’s had quite a few other incidents that have come up, some of them more serious than others.
In one of these incidents in June of 2021, she was speeding more than 25 miles an hour above the posted limit. Less than a month later, she was accused of possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and trying to prevent arrest. On July 1, the behavior escalated, and she was accused of terrorizing an adult victim, attempting to assault an officer, and again possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. On the same day, she was accused of causing damage to property and criminal mischief, when she defaced a statue of Jesus outside of the Fargo cathedral and was caught on video.
She wasn’t done yet. On the 12th of July, he had more marijuana offenses along with criminal trespass. Two days later, she was again accused of terrorizing an adult victim and possession.
There is no doubt that Whitten is a troubled woman and that events like these are going to continue time and again until something is done to stop it.
