God, Vandalism, and a Threesome
Stop me if you’ve heard this one. A priest and two dominatrices walk into a Catholic church and… well.
Most will agree that what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom is their business. However, for one reason or another, not everyone is inclined to keep their business in the bedroom. Some put it on display without realizing just who might see it and how many might find out.
That was the case with Travis Clark (37), a priest in Pearl River, Louisiana who ended up in a threesome with dominatrices Mindy Lynn Dixon (41) and Melissa Kamon Cheng (28). Not only were they having sex, which is something Catholic priests say they don’t do, but they were also doing it on top of a church altar.
How Did They Get Found Out?
One night, a passerby was walking near Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church when they noticed something happening inside of the church. They saw a half-naked priest through the windows of the church having sex with two women in corsets.
At this time, Clark was the pastor of the church and was likely one of the last people anyone would think is going to engage in that type of behavior, especially in a church. He was soon arrested along with the two women, both of whom were from out of state.
What Happened to Them?
Initially, they were charged with obscenity counts. However, those charges were reduced to one charge of institutional vandalism each according to the DA’s office. They have been accused of knowingly vandalizing, defacing, or otherwise damaging property and causing damage valued at over $500 and under $50,000.
Why weren’t they charged with obscenity? It’s because they deemed the act as being legal since it did not occur in public. Yes, it was in a church, but it was closed and after normal hours.
The attorney for the women for this case was still not happy with the clients being charged with institutionalized vandalism, although it is far better than being charged with obscenity. They said,
“Instead, after waiting nearly six months, the state has decided to move forward with a lesser charge of ‘institutionalized vandalism.’ It is clear the state went out of its way to contort the facts of this case in order to fit their own narrative. Once again, they have overstepped their bounds as this nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to regulate the morality of private individuals. Just because you don’t like something, doesn’t make it criminal. My clients look forward to their day in court as we continue to fight this baseless allegation.”
Of course, you have to remember that these three did still have sex in a church. It wasn’t necessarily the dominatrix or threesome aspect that was the problem. It was the problem that it happened in a place where people frequent, and you can be sure that it’s what most people who go to the church or live in the town are going to be thinking about for a while.
Clark’s superiors were unhappy with his actions, as you can well imagine. He was removed as the pastor of the church just a day after his arrest. The women said that they were role-playing and recording the acts, all of which were consensual.
The archbishop in New Orleans said that the things Clark did were deplorable and that the desecration of the altar was demonic. He also said that once the church realized everything that had taken place on the altar, they had it removed and burned.
