Litigation Lawyer
Talia Gukert received her Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University in 2024 and is currently a litigation lawyer at Kahane Law Office. Talia maintains a general civil litigation practice and is committed to providing her clients with practical, strategic advocacy based on their unique circumstances and desired outcomes. She employs a client-centered approach, focusing on negotiating early resolutions and solving complex disputes effectively and within legal budgets. Prior to law school, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature (Honors and Distinction) at Queen’s University and her Master of Management at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.
While attending law school, Talia volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and helped create a comprehensive “Know Your Rights” guide to assist the 2SLGBTQPIA+ community in navigating the legal and healthcare system. She also volunteered at the TRU Community Legal Clinic and provided legal help and advice to low-income clients in Kamloops and the surrounding area. Talia also served as the Vice President of Communications for the TRU Business Law Society, as well as the Student Director for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC.
As a born and raised Calgarian, Talia is happy to begin her legal career in Calgary and enjoys spending lots of time in the outdoors. She is an enthusiastic hiker, figure skater, ice fisher, and gardener of avocado plants. Talia also enjoys spending time on her creative interests, including painting, candle-making, knitting, and baking.
